Will Morrissey read these letters?

I, and the contributors so far, do hope that Morrissey will see these letters. We absolutely want him to feel supported during these dystopian days and hope our letters can serve as a loving contrast to the slander and smears.

Obviously, we know it will most likely remain unknown as to whether or not he does.

However, the additional purpose of Letters to Morrissey is to tell the side of the story that belongs to his loyal fans.

Mainstream media claims that his fans are abandoning him, but this is an absolute slander and lie. My hope by setting up Letters to Morrissey is that it may stand as a testament. The media doesn’t speak for us. The supposed “ex-fans” do not speak for us.

By sending our open letters to Morrissey, we can endeavour to create a collective response to the lies. Obviously, the primary slander of Morrissey and his fans comes from mainstream media publications seeking ad revenue for the clicks they get every time they print hate about him.

But still, many others are people of mediocre fame who think to slander him will bring them more popularity. Or those with rickety careers who need to echo the popular delusions so to not risk being drowned by the current unfree speech tsunami.

They think that their mediocre fame and claims to have once been a fan gives them authority over what all fans must also be thinking and that we should bow in shame under their mediocre fame if we disagree.

These people claim to represent us. Letters to Morrissey is proof that they do not.

Nevertheless, I have a small dream that if I can accumulate enough submissions before May 2019, I will do whatever I can to print all the letters into a book of some description to present, somehow, to Morrissey for his 60th birthday. (EDIT: this we did! see here)

Yes, I have blue dreamers eyes.

I also want to take the opportunity to thank all the beautiful people who have already contributed. Yes. Thank you so very very much.

If you wish to make a contribution also, please do so here.
