Dear Morrissey,
As cliche as it may sound, you have truly, truly saved my life. My journey to the East coast from Denver, Colorado in my early years of college wasn’t easy. Your music, your lyrics, made my existing bearable. You quite literally speak my mind. All the emotions and feelings that I was going through were spoken for me by your beautiful and true to-the-heart words.
I’m not sure where I would be or how I would have ended up if it weren’t for me blasting your music in my ears every single day where I felt completely alone. From getting carried on stage in Omaha, Nebraska at age 8, to getting to sing Shoplifters of the World on stage with you in my hometown of Denver a decade later, my love for you only grows and grows more immensely every day. Thank you, Morrissey, for making me feel as if I wasn’t the only one going through these feelings. Thank you, Morrissey, for saving my life.
