Nigh on 33 years ago now, Morrissey turned my head with the release of Everyday Is Like Sunday. This is the song that changed (and saved!) my very life forevermore, and I shudder to think where I would be now without his divine and timely intervention.
As I have mentioned many times previously, I may not agree with every single thing that Morrissey has to say, but I have huge respect for him as both an artist and as an individual, and I love the fact that he’s never sold his soul just to sell a few measly records or seek popularity. Morrissey has always remained true to his beliefs, principles and ideals, and has shone a light on the horrific plight of the animal kingdom on a global scale.
Morrissey’s legacy will without doubt survive the constant and relentless attempts to besmirch, denigrate and decimate it: there are countless people on this planet who have had their lives transformed by him, and this will remain the case decades from now.
