I have loved you for a little over 10 years now. The Smiths is where it began for me, and your solo music was a thrilling discovery shortly afterward, especially Viva Hate. I’m grateful for your message of kindness and encouragement to be yourself, even if that means you might stand alone. I found solace in your songs, a sense of peace. Thank you for all your bravery, for continuing to sing despite all the negativity and criticism. I love you and know many others do, too.
