Dear Morrissey,

I heard you for the first time in 1997, but it would take 16 years after that for my devotion to you to take place. November 22nd, 2013 my failed suicide attempt lead me back to you. You were the inner voice that I had lost during an abusive marriage, you were the friend I danced with while I was home alone and broken, you were the confidence I needed to become the woman I am today. I’ve imagined countless times what I would say to you if I had the opportunity, but somehow “Thank you” just doesn’t seem to be enough. Should you happen to read this one day, I pray my words bring you the same support and comfort that you have given me over and over again.
