Real Life Shoplifter: Paul Wardle

Following a very dark period of my life I was finally arrested around the start of the century.
Led out of my job in handcuffs, shamed, desperate and depressed.
My friends and family to say the least, truly disappointed.
An acquaintance joked to me that if I was seriously thinking of suicide, which I was, I should buy a “Smiths album”.
I took that advice literally and ventured down to my local record store to pick up a copy of the 1st Smiths album I saw, which turned out to be “Singles”.
I put the album on and sat in the bath crying whilst “That joke isn’t funny anymore” told me all about my life.
Talk about life changing moment!
Years on and I’m now a fully paid up member of the Moz-army! I’ve been to see the great man live numerous times and I’ve even taken my son and my Mum who are both now big fans too!
When he sang “Songs that saved your life”.. he wasn’t joking!
