You are a poet for the broken

The words below, I posted about a month ago in a Morrissey fb fan page:

To the girl that was asking yesterday if Morrissey lived in L.A. I believe so, since last year they declared November 10th Moz Day. I think it was great, yet Morrissey is everywhere. We live a few hours away and go to Disneyland often, to take my daughter. When you first enter the park there are many original buildings, their little main street. To the left there is this two story building, where there is a light by the window on what used to be Walt Disneys’ desk. It was Mr. Disneys’ apartment, and he would work many hours at night. Disney employees always saw that one light on. In memory of Mr. Disney, they always keep that same light on. This last time we went, I told my daughter, “look, there is a light that never goes out”. My daughter knew right away, what I meant. So, I guess you can also say Morrissey lives everywhere.

I came across Morrissey’s songs/poems since (about) the age of five. I started feeling a connection, and understanding to his lyrics by the time I was a teenager. Since early childhood, I experienced heartbreak. I can tell you that connection is what I have yearned for all my life. Thank you for giving us all these emotions of ‘connection’, through your beautifully written words. You are a poet for the broken. You’re lyrics have made many feel understood and not as lonely.
