Why are you a loyal fan of Morrissey?
I love the man & I love the music
What is it that resonates between you and him?
We’re both northern with Irish parentage
How has he inspired you?
His music & lyrics are an inspiration to many of us
What is it about his songs that inspire you? Strengthen you? Entertain you?
I love his quirky lyrics & the way he finds humor in even the most serious topics
What cause has he inspired you to pursue?
His campaign for animal welfare is an inspiration to us all
Do you have a story about when you met him?
I’ve never been fortunate enough (though I live in hope)
Do you have a story about how you discovered him?
It was 1984 & I was yawning my way through top of the pops, then the Smith’s came on & I thought ‘at last, something different & actually very good’ I was intrigued by this strange individual whirling flowers & kicking balloons around as he sang ‘heaven knows I’m miserable now & the next day I had to go out & buy a copy. Then, as I heard more & more, I was well & truly hooked!
Anything else you would like to add?
Morrissey has seen me through some pretty bleak times in the last 36 yrs & continues to do so, his lyrics make me smile through the bad times & his voice is so soothing!
